i think that’s called “spam”.

get out of the business. nobody likes spam.
depends on the product – perhaps you need to better identify your target market and try emailing them rather than a random segment

If you are sening out 1500 and receiving 1 response, I would think that the list you purchased is not the latest or the most accurate.
Where are you getting the 1500 email addresses to send out to? Also, the email you sent out might not be appealing, eye catching, or does not deliver your message very well.
If you ahve the email addresses, try changing the email and send it out again.
You could keep sending them but maybe you should think of a different approah, but then again several millions of people in this world, so good luck.

IM Success Formula
You’re lucky you got the one reply.
Most people who receive unrequested e-mails or unrecognizable e-mails trash them without even opening them. That’s the problem with the internet, there are too many solicitations and dis-honest e-mails and users don’t even open them anymore.
What type of reliable list? Did you purchase the list? If so, that’s probably your problem. The list is most likely not targeted for your product or service.
If this is a list you’ve built yourself, my first question would be how did you build it. 2. How many times have you emailed this list? Have you bombarded them with “buy this” emails?
To get a responsive list you have to develop a good enough relationship with your readers to inspire the trust required to get a better response.
Or the problem could be with the ad itself. If the list is available for additional mailings, and this is the first ad you’ve sent them, you could try rewriting the ad.
Try reading this article. See if this can help any.
Also if the list isn’t yours you might try reading to get your own list.
